Atlanta Braves sign RHP Jason Motte to minor league deal

After an opening week with struggles in the bullpen, the Braves signed right hander Jason Motte to a minor league deal.

The Atlanta Braves signed former St. Louis and Colorado right handed reliever Jason Motte to a minor league deal on Sunday night.

Motte has been in the big leagues since 2008, after being drafted by the Cardinals in the 19th round of the 2003 MLB Draft.

Now 34, Motte has nearly 400 career appearances, and has a 3.28 career ERA in 357 innings. He has 60 career saves and 348 strikeouts in eight major league seasons.

The Michigan native is expected to report to triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
