The Bulldogs never really got it going as a team Wednesday night in Athens, as a solid Belmont team beat Georgia in nearly all areas of the game.
In what would prove to be his final collegiate game, Bulldogs senior guard J.J. Frazier led all scorers in Wednesday night’s National Invitation Round opener with 29 points, but it wasn’t enough as No. 2 Georgia (19-15) fell to No. 7 Belmont (23-6) 78-69.
With Yante Maten back on the bench with injury, it all fell on senior Frazier, and while Belmont had four players well into double digit points, the Bulldogs had only three, and two of those had exactly 10.
As a team, Belmont shot over 45 percent from beyond the arc to Georgia’s 23 percent, and out rebounded the Bulldogs as well. See the full box score HERE.
FINAL: Georgia falls 78-69 to Belmont in the NIT.
