Recap: Georgia State falls in CIT first round at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

The Panthers ended their fourth season in Ron Hunter’s career with 20 wins or more, in a CIT road loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Georgia State (20-13), fresh off an upset loss to Troy in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, accepted a College Insider Tournament bid, and traveled to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Wednesday.

AMCC scored first in the game and never trailed, as the Panthers weren’t able to mount a run the entire game. A 17-point effort from freshman guard D’Marcus Simonds wasn’t enough, as GSU fell 80-64 to end their 20-win season.
