Photos: Atlanta Falcons cheerleader performs with broken foot

Football players are known for being tough and playing through injuries, but they aren’t the only hardened athletes associated with the game.

One Atlanta Falcons cheerleading hopeful battled through injury Wednesday night during team auditions, performing a routine with a broken foot.

Participant Alexandria G. performed the final routine at downtown Atlanta’s Terminal West wearing a decorated medical boot after having broken her foot a couple of days earlier.

“Monday evening we were doing our two eight-counts of improv,” Alexandria said in a report from Atlanta’s Kara Durrette. “I was doing a turning sequence and I went down for a jump and heard two pops. Pop. Pop. I ended up breaking my fifth metatarsal”

Alexandria is no rookie, going into her fourth season as a Falcons cheerleader. She called the broken foot “an unfortunate, fluke injury.”
