Recap: Braves’ road skid continues with 8-4 loss at Marlins

The Braves lost their fifth consecutive game on Tuesday night on the road at Miami, in a game of miss opportunities for Atlanta and big home runs for Miami.

Atlanta (1-6) were playing from behind the entire game Tuesday, after veteran starter Bartolo Colon got off to a rough start, giving up three runs in the first inning of the 8-4 loss.

Colon gave up six runs on seven hits in four innings of work. He struck out two and walked two in his first loss of the season. Mike Foltynewicz worked a pair of innings out of the bullpen, giving up two runs.

Outfielder Nick Markakis got in his first homer of the season, and Brandon Phillips went 2-for-3, but not much else to speak off from the Braves’ bats. See the full box score HERE.
