Recap: Georgia Tech women fall 89-79 to Michigan in WNIT final

Days after the Georgia Tech men’s basketball team lost their NIT final game to TCU, the women’s team suffered the same fate at the hands of Michigan in the WNIT.

Georgia Tech women’s basketball (22-15) ended a deep Women’s National Invitation Tournament run Saturday in an 89-79 triple overtime loss to Michigan.

In a game that was matched nearly point-for-point all four quarters, Michigan finally pulled away in the third OT to take the WNIT trophy home.

Led by a 21-point effort from junior forward Zaire O’Neil, the Yellow Jackets won the rebound battle, but turned the ball over more than the Wolverines. See the full box score HERE.
