Shorter’s Phil Taylor leading NCAA basketball in scoring

Shorter University senior guard Phil Taylor has risen to the top of the pile, leading the entire NCAA in points per game with 37.5.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Taylor transferred to Shorter from Florida International has a season high of 62 points versus Carver Bible, and has had games of 41, 48, and 52 points this season.

Other than a 19 point performance against LeMoyne-Owen, Taylor’s second lowest scoring performance has been 25. He’s averaging 38.5 minutes through ten games so far for the 2015-16.
