RedClayRoundup is currently looking for intelligent, self-motivated writers with an interest in Georgia-based sports teams and a desire to build a resume for a future in sports journalism.
A degree in journalism, history, English, public relations, communications, or a related field would be a plus, but is not required. A combination of education and relevant experience is acceptable. Even if you feel you may not be qualified, a quality writing sample may bridge the gap.
RCR currently requires a commitment from each of our contributors to submit at least FOUR original pieces per month.
Note – RedClayRoundup.com contributor positions are currently UNPAID, but the experience and exposure we offer is invaluable for writers wishing to pursue a future in the wold of sports journalism. Our best, most driven writers/editors would certainly be eligible to earn a spot as a paid contributor in the future.
How to Apply:
Send an email to RedClayRoundup@gmail.com and include the category/categories you’re interested in covering in the subject. Please include your name, and location and Twitter handle in the body of your email, as well as a little about yourself both from a personal and professional standpoint (keep it brief). Also include links to 2-4 writing samples if you have them. Don’t have any writing samples, but feel you may be qualified? Feel free to email us and we’ll provide you with a sample assignment with a deadline. We look forward to hearing from you!
Plagiarism is not tolerated at RedClayRoundup, and instances of unoriginal work will be cause for immediate termination of a contributor’s writing privileges. Plagiarism is a very serious subject in the world of journalism and can ruin an individual’s future in the industry.
